Quality is our competitive advantage. We recently received accolades from a customer whose lounge chair mysteriously vanished from their lake shore patio during a storm. Three years later the customer discovered their chair submerged below their dock. Upon its return to dry land the chair still looked, felt, and worked like new. As stated by the customer, "Our chair is in perfect condition. It is amazing." It definitely is remarkable, and is a testament to the level of quality with which we produce patio furniture.
Reflecting on this example I realize our ability to produce such a bullet-proof product is due to you, our sophisticated and proficient employees, whose collective knowledge and skills have garnered our company a well-earned reputation for producing high-quality patio furniture. Through our T.C.F. Quality Initiative we will continue to design and produce Time Tested, Comfortable, and Fashionable furniture collections that differentiate our company from the competition.
Hearth & Home Magazine acknowledged us for "providing the best quality products" in our industry with "the most salable designs,” putting products on showroom floors that produce "the highest profit margins." Top this off with ranking first among retailers for "providing the fastest, most consistent delivery" and we have poised ourselves as the leaders in our industry.
Telescope Casual Furniture has a promising future. With our dedicated and wonderful workforce producing superb products and services I am confident in our ability to continue excelling in our industry as we prosper and grow.
Great STORY, SIMPLE, CREDIBLE and easy to remember. I used to tell a similar story about a time clock that survived a tornado, after the building crumbled around it - and it kept it's data - UNEXPECTED (the chair showing up years later)! Stuff like that is always great marketing. People can relate to storms, losing things and furniture that just isn't made like it used to be.
ReplyDeleteDifferentiating yourself from the competition and stories are perfect for drawing in the customer to relate to you and your product. As for emplyees, stories bring them closer to the customer and fosters pride in their work - EMOTIONAL.
Nice job.
Wow a great story at the beginning kept me engaged! Made me want to read on.
ReplyDeleteI thought the personal story about a customer would make an impact on employee performance.
Anyone who had anthing to do with developing that chair would feel a great sense of pride based off of your communication.!
I agree with others about the opening of the story. I was engaged to see what the outcome of the story was since it was "unexpected" and kept reading to find the outcome. Your continued mention of the employees and their commitment to quality and work ethic plays on the emotional aspect and fosters ownership at their level.
ReplyDeleteOverall a solid message that delivers
Much like others have noted, I, too was immediately engaged in the story and had to keep on reading to see what happened because it was unexpected. Furthermore, your memo was simple and I really enjoyed hearing the story about your consumer feedback. The statement was also credible, for you mentioned that Hearth & Home Magazine acknowledged your company for providing the best quality products with the most salable designs. It was emotional in the sense that you made it a point to recognize that employees were the brains and hands behind the success of your company's quality products.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason I liked your memo is because it helps reiterate the impact a quality product has on maintaining a competitive advantage over competitors in an industry. Positive shopping experiences, much like the one told in your statement to the workforce, are often passed along to friends, family members, and co-workers. In simpler form, a consumer’s positive experience with your company usually drives more consumer traffic through your company’s doors. I encourage your company to keep up the good work!
Great story, almost sounds like urban legend. I think the memo could have stood on that alone. Nice work on this!
